Paula reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Alumni Affairs and participates as a member of the senior management team. She leads efforts to develop policies and procedures to enhance the infrastructure of Alumni Affairs and provides project management and direction for assigned alumni engagement priorities, including alumni business development. Paula works closely with alumni directors, including the Business Officer, Alumni Programs, Marketing & Communications, Regional Outreach and Alumni Engagement to provide creative problem-solving, strategic coordination and delivery of alumni services.

Paula began her career in Alumni Affairs in 2002, where she initially served as the UCSD Alumni Association’s business officer, and later oversaw alumni marketing and communications for five years. Under her direction, the Association was recognized with Circle of Excellence Awards for its website, @UCSD online and outreach communications. Previously, Paula served as the development assistant at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD, where she was responsible for growing Scripps’s membership base and helping to plan and promote high-profile events.

Paula graduated from UC San Diego in 1987 with degrees in Management Science and Urban Studies and Planning. She lives in North San Diego County, is married and has three teenage children.
