| Ryan Purdy is our Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs in the Division of Social Sciences. In this capacity, he will help develop creative engagement programs designed to sustain a meaningful relationship and life-long commitment between alumni, Social Sciences (and its nine academic departments), and the University. Ryan works with his colleagues in the unit-based Alumni Affairs program as part of our Alumni Programs team.
Ryan grew up in Ventura County, and in his first move south, went to UCLA where he pursued his undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature and minored in Public Policy. After graduating, he worked for the Career Center, Orientation Program, and Admissions at UCLA over the span of five and a half years. Later he moved onto UC Irvine where he worked for three and half years, first in the central development office and then at the UC Irvine Alumni Association as the Student Programs Manager. In Ryan’s last role, he was the advisor to the Student Alumni Association, headed the association’s scholarship program, and worked on both student-alumni programs and alumni events. Ryan is very excited to be at UCSD and in the city of San Diego--which is the perfect location for his favorite activities: running, swimming, and surfing.
Ryan looks forward to generating exciting initiatives, engaging a broader alumni community, and significantly increasing alumni participation. |
