Freshmen Send-Offs (September)

Alumni chapters throughout California ease the anxiety and promote the excitement of attending UCSD by hosting family-style picnics for incoming students and their parents. Alumni are encouraged to attend to have fun, answer questions about campus life and let new students know of Chapter networking support at home.

Homecoming (October)
Join fellow alumni athletes and their families on RIMAC field to celebrate Homecoming at UCSD. Enjoy alumni vs. student sports and cheer on your favorite Triton team. Bring a picnic or purchase BBQ and beverages at the hospitality tent. MORE

Chancellor’s 5K Challenge (October)
This annual run/walk fundraiser benefits UCSD’s undergraduate scholarship program. To date this event has raised over $850,000 for nearly 430 scholarships. MORE

The Alumni Association also supports current students and is a proud sponsor of several campus festivals, including Winterfest and Sun God Festival. MORE

Regional Career Networking Nights (November)
Whether starting out in the job market or looking for a mid-career change, it is likely that attending a Career Networking Night will give you a greater chance of success. Each event features a panel of industry leaders discussing current trends, ways to manage your career, and how to gain skills for the job market. All industries and career levels, from new grads to seasoned professionals, are welcome. MORE

Spirit Night (January)

Bring your family and cheer on UCSD's basketball team. Watch the game while sitting in the skybox with other alumni. Enjoy a great half time show with contests and entertainment and fireworks at the end of the evening. MORE

UCSD Cares (March)
Join campus leaders, students, alumni and staff, to raise money for local charities. UCSD Cares is an annual event to provide contributions to local San Diego organizations through donations, fundraising, and mini-service activities. Each day of the weeklong celebration features noontime entertainment in Price Center Plaza. MORE

Awards for Excellence (Spring)
The UCSD Alumni Association honors outstanding alumni, students and leaders annually for professional achievement, community involvement and service to the University. Proceeds benefit the Alumni Leadership Scholarship. MORE

Life 101: Thinking Outside the Books (April-May)

Meet current students as they prepare for life after graduation. Participate as a workshop leader and network with students and fellow alumni.  MORE

Admit Day (April-May)
This annual event, hosted by UCSD Admissions and Outreach Department and sponsored in part by the Alumni Association, welcomes admitted freshmen and their families to campus. Alumni volunteers serve a continental breakfast outside the Alumni Association office. You may even find them offering some great advice and a glimpse of UCSD college life to these prospective students.  MORE

UCSD Near You (March - October)

This program, now in its third year, showcases the university and helps UCSD reconnect with alumni through its successful nationwide tour. A 10 city program will launch in March 2007, spanning from San Diego to New York. More than 600 alumni attended the 2006 program, which offered lively discussion and networking opportunities. A survey of guests showed that 39 percent had never before attended a UCSD-sponsored event. MORE

Triton Junkyard Derby (May)

The Triton Junkyard Derby was founded five years ago by the UCSD Alumni Association as a fun addition to the annual Sun God festivities.  Now hosted by the Triton Engineering Student Council (TESC), this year's Triton Junkyard Derby will test the laws of phyics at a new date and time. On May 23, 2008 come and watch as student-alumni teams compete in the most exciting boxcar competition UCSD has ever seen.

Welcome New Grads Mixers (June)

Alumni Chapters host regional networking receptions to congratulate hundreds of our newest graduates, welcome them to the UCSD Alumni Association and encourage them to maintain a lifelong relationship with the University.  These friendly receptions give our latest graduates the opportunity to mingle with alumni and network with accomplished professionals.
