The UCSD Book club was created to bring students, alumni, and the community together by reading and talking about books based on current events. Although these books are fiction, they are based on current issues that need our attention now: global warming, use of natural resources, the War on Terror, and how America will survive, to name a few.

It does not matter what party affiliation you are or whether you are conservative or liberal. This book club is about staying informed and learning what is going on in the world while meeting and forming networks with new UCSD alumni, students, and authors.

There will be a new book selected every few months and they can be purchased at the UCSD Bookstore or online via the bookstore. There will also be a book club meeting for each book where you can discuss the book and its topics.

This book club is not limited to only San Diego residents or UCSD Alumni. Anyone from all over the world can join and still be active members via internet participation, or just to stay informed on world issues without relying solely on the media. These books will enlighten and challenge; join us!
