Regional Representatives
(Regional Reps) are UCSD ambassadors across the country located in cities
where there are currently no official UCSD alumni chapters. As
a Regional Rep, you will be our primary liason for engaging local alumni,
coodinating alumni activities and promoting UCSD.
Key
Responsibilities
Act
as a UCSD ambassador for a specified region
Serve
as the main contact for alumni seeking others in your region
Identify
alumni in your region and share data with the UCSD Alumni Association
Coordinate
and staff an annual UCSD alumni event in your region
Encourage
membership in the UCSD Alumni Association
Meet
with UCSD faculty, staff and students when visiting your region (if
applicable)
Minimum
Qualifications
Current
member of the UCSD Alumni Association
Over
250 alumni living within region (50 mile radius)
Knowledgable
about current UCSD news and issues
Deep
affinity for UCSD
Strong
interpersonal skills
Commitment
to volunteer approximately 4 hours/month
Support
from the Alumni Association
Funding for an annual alumni event
Maintaining
a database of alumni in your region
Training
reps on recruiting, managing volunteers, planning events, etc.
Marketing
activities and programs via the Internet, email and newsletters
Providing
UCSD logo gear, prizes, nametags and other collateral, as needed
