Carol J. Hobson, '84 is a digital media artist,
curator and the Administrative Director of CRCA. Her experience
encompasses the organization,
presentation, and promotion of cultural and arts programs, interdisciplinary
projects, and special events utilizing the latest computing
technologies. Within the University of California, she has been
instrumental
in developing new initiatives in the digital and new media arts.
Patty Rangel, ’98,
MFA Visual Arts, is a producer and holographer. Her diverse producing
credits include concerts such as the
Axis Mundi International Arts Festival and Axes of Evil
Halloween
Concert 2003, films such as Echo and Book of Numbers, and
television shows such as the Golden Globe Awards, National
Republican Convention,
and the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Jon Phillips, ’04, MFA Visual Arts, is an open source
developer, artist, writer, educator, lecturer, and curator with
12+ years
of experience
creating communities and working within computing culture.
He is currently developing the Open Source project, Open Clip
Art
Library
Momilani Ramstrum, ’04, Ph.D. Music,
is a writer, composer, educator, and musician investigating the
impact of technology on music
and aesthetics. She created a DVD-ROM published by IRCAM entitled
From Kafka to K... which documents and analyzes an electronic
opera, and forms a chapter of Analyzing Electroacoustic Music,
published by Routledge.
Lisa Hutton, ’99, M.F.A. in Visual Art, is an independent
San Diego based artist and educator working primarily in digital
imaging,
net art, video, animation, and text. Recent exhibitions include
Digital Visions and Prog:ME. She has been getting along very
well with computers since 1987 and is sometimes seen using rollerblades.
Jack Ox, ’79, MFA Visual Arts, works with the visualization
of music in the collaborative project the 21st C. Virtual Color
Organ™.
Her current demonstration project for LambdaRail, Gridjam, is
an immersive spatial experience marrying novel visualization
techniques with spatial audio and real-time performance events.
Ox, a member of the Leonardo editorial board, has been widely
exhibited internationally in museums.
