The Structural Engineering Alumni
Group is the first official platform for networking and interaction
between UCSD’s Structural Engineering alumni, students, and
faculty. Together we work to promote our unique education and our
chosen professions.
Whether your passion involves bridges, buildings, composite structures,
microprocessors, or the development of human prosthetics, our diverse
backgrounds and varied career experiences make us a dynamic group.
We hope to promote a setting where we can learn, grow and interact
with one another in an effort to build and improve ourselves and
our community.
Our goal is also to partner with student groups, including
Engineers Without Borders, the Society of Civil and Structural Engineers,
the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute and the American Institute
of Aeronautics and Astronautics. We are able to provide student
mentorship, support with student competitions and projects, and
participate in community service and outreach. Additionally we hope
to develop and implement a scholarship program for structural engineering
students in the near future. Our interaction with the current students
allows us to share our experience, insight, and opportunities.
In our partnership with the Department of Structural Engineering,
we are in the loop on the latest developments in structural engineering
and research. We also play an instrumental role in improving the
structural engineering curriculum, and promoting the prestige of
our degrees and alma matter.
Join our alumni group and get invited to special behind-the-scenes tours, student mixers, and other special events.
