EVENT DETAILS:
Join UCSD's sustainability leader, IR/PS Professor Lisa Shaffer, and coordinator of UCSD's Sustainable Food Project, alumnus Matt Finkelstein, '07, at Alchemy in South Park for creative and delectable appetizers from locally-grown ingredients and learn more about urban farming. No-host bar will be available.
Alchemy in South Park offers a new fusion spilling over into music, art, culture and architecture, adding up to a worldly new neighborhood restaurant that knows no borders. Soundtracks — selected by staffers with uncanny good taste — move easily from flamenco to jazz to Motown. Art, from a variety of contributors, changes regularly, save for the stunning steel tree that stretches from floor to ceiling and forms the sinuous focal point of the dining room. And the cuisine is artful too, treating fresh, often-local ingredients with a minimum of fuss for maximum flavor.
