All alumni are invited to experience international "voluntourism." As the name implies, these short trips combine vacation travel with realistic, hands-on volunteering.
Please join us for our trip to Guatemala, the land of the eternal spring. Enjoy the beauty of the natural world while working on local community development projects and learning more about regional history, culture, and sustainability efforts.
A few highlights:
• Walk historic Antigua, the old capital
• Work in local communities
• Visit ancient Mayan ruins
• Experience natural splendor
• Work on farms and gardens
• Support restoration efforts
• Examine natural building techniques
• Learn regional traditions
• Study Mayan culture
• Enjoy traditional foods
• Meet indigenous leaders
• Explore village life
Your trip will include projects determined by community members near San Martin Jitlotepeque, and may include time in Antigua, Panajachel, Tikal, or Rio Dulce.
Cost for UCSD Alumni: $795 program fee; $600 flight (includes $200 discount!)
