We are pleased to announce a new Library benefit pilot program for UCSD Alumni Association members. UC's California Digital Library is offering access to the Alumni ProQuest Research Library through June 30, 2008.

The Alumni ProQuest Research Library is an electronic data service featuring more than 2,000 full-text online journals and magazines. Most provide coverage beginning 1992 and with access to full-text or text and graphics of covered articles. This program is being offered at no charge to members as a test to determine interest and to work out support and program mechanics. Whether the program continues in future years will depend on the success of the pilot project. 

How do I sign up?

If you are a member of the UCSD Alumni Association, you may request an access code. Simply read and agree to the Terms of Use and send us an email identifying yourself as a UCSD Alumni Association member seeking access to the Alumni ProQuest Research Library and that you agree to theTerms of Use. Include your name and graduation year and we will reply with your access code, the website address and instructions within 2-3 business days.

Terms of Use:

By requesting an access code for the Alumni ProQuest Research Library, I understand that I am being granted access in my capacity as a member of the UCSD Alumni Association and that my use of service constitutes agreement to the following terms of use: I agree to use the materials for personal use only and will not sell the content, use it for commercial purposes, or provide my user name and password to any other individual. I understand that any excessive or systematic downloading may result in my privileges being revoked.

What does it cost?

During the pilot year, the service is free to eligible users, through June 30, 2008.

Are there limits or conditions?

- You must be a member of the UCSD Alumni Association

- Our contract stipulates that the purpose of access to the service is only for personal use and that users will not unduly exploit the resource by using it for commercial purposes or systematically downloading portions of the file.
