“Think Outside the Books” at Life 101 Seminar

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, the third annual Life 101: Thinking Outside the Books seminar brought together nearly 170 UC San Diego students and 50 alumni to enjoy a half day of networking, educational breakout sessions, and inspiring keynote speakers focused on surviving—and thriving in—life after graduation. What is Life 101?

This conference is designed to help you successfully navigate the transition from student life to the world beyond UCSD. It's an excellent opportunity to network with established alumni who will be participating in the workshop series as speakers, discussion leaders, and mentors. 

The day begins with a keynote address by a UCSD alum followed by a variety of tailored breakout sessions designed specifically for UCSD students. Each workshop will provide an open forum for questions, information exchange, and dialogue.

Students will also attend "Networking with the Pros" to meet one-on-one with alumni from a number of professional fields including arts and communication, entertainment, business, human services, life science, technology and more!

The day concludes with a luncheon and final address.

Students will walk away from the conference with professional contacts and the knowledge that there is rarely one path that leads to a desired goal, but rather a series of steps - some planned and others by chance - that pave the way for professional and personal success.
