The second annual Life 101 half-day conference on Saturday, April 22 is SOLD OUT! We cannot accept any day-of event registration.
This conference is designed to help you successfully navigate the transition from student life to the world beyond UCSD. It's an excellent opportunity to network with established alumni who will be participating in the workshop series as speakers, discussion leaders, and mentors.
The day begins with a special address by UCSD alumna Carrie Gugger, '96, the owner of a marketing and communications company and a recent contestant on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.
MORE
Students will then be able to go to a variety of breakout sessions designed to help address a few of life's biggest questions including the most effective way to land a dream job, how to take the first steps to launch a personal investment plan, and how to decide if grad school should be something immediately pursued. Each workshop will provide an open forum for questions, information exchange, and dialogue.
MORE
Students will also attend "Networking with the Pros" to meet one-on-one with alumni from over 30 professional fields including arts and communication, entertainment, business, human services, life science, technology and more!
MORE
The day will conclude with a special keynote address by Thom Sherman, '88, president of Bad Robot Productions, the company that produces the hit television shows Lost and Alias.
MORE
At the end of the day, students will walk away from the conference with professional contacts and the knowledge that there is rarely one path that leads to a desired goal, but rather a series of steps - some planned and others by chance - that pave the way for professional and personal success.
Life 101: Thinking Outside the Books is co-presented by the UCSD Alumni Association and Career Services Center.
Please note: If you are part of the SOLO Passport Series, this is a double-stamp day for you! Don't miss out on this great opportunity!
