If you’re a bio alum, make sure you’re getting Biosphere. Published twice a year in spring and fall, this 20-page magazine is packed with updates on faculty and research, and includes profiles on alumni with interviews and information about graduate and undergraduate education programs. December articles range from an alumni profile of Jeffrey Kent, ’74, of Kent’s Bromeliads to an interview with Mel Simon and Jay Short of Diversa on the emerging fields of meta genomics. Visit Biosphere online at http://biology.ucsd.edu/about/biosphere.html or email pwalsh@ucsd.edu if you are not getting your copy.
