Kudos

Kudos to the following professors and researchers.

MIT’s magazine of innovation, Technology Review, lists three UCSD researchers among its top 100 young innovators: Jamie Link, a chemistry graduate student, who develops dust-sized chips of silicon to detect biological and chemical agents; Lei Wang, a post doc researching life’s origins; and Serge Belongie, an assistant professor of computer science, who created the first company to market a consumer-oriented fingerprint recognition device.

Four UCSD literature professors were included in the prestigious annual, Best American Poetry 2004. The poems published were: Rae Armantrout’s “Almost,” Michael Davidson’s “Rad Modernism,” Eileen Myles’s “No Rewriting” and Fanny Howe’s “Catholic.”

Andrei Both, a design professor in the theatre department, received the UNITER (Union of European Theatres) award, in April, for best set design in 2004 for A Portrait of Dorian Gray. It was produced at the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest.
