Invest More Than $900 Million in UCSD’s Future
If you take a walk around campus this fall, you might be surprised
to see just how much has changed in the last few years— transformations
that were made possible through donations to The Campaign for UCSD: Imagine What’s Next. MORE
Chancellor’s
Chair Challenge
Last December, Chancellor Marye Anne Fox initiated a partial-match
program to
encourage private support for faculty. When the six-month program
concluded
at the end of May, it had generated commitments for 17 new endowed
faculty chairs (subject to UCSD Academic Senate and UC Office of
the President approvals). These endowed chairs will exist in perpetuity
to honor and recruit distinguished teachers and researchers. To
learn more about how you can support UCSD faculty, please call

The
Preuss School: Achieving the
Attainable Dream
This fall, 13 graduates of The Preuss
School—a college-preparatory middle and high school affiliated
with UC San Diego—will eagerly begin life as UCSD undergrads.
For many of these low-income students, scholarships have made attending
college an attainable dream. They can look forward to receiving
a stellar undergraduate education thanks to their own hard work,
determination and the generosity of others.
“I can’t thank enough those who generously support UCSD’s
student scholarships,” says Preuss alum and UCSD scholarship
holder, Amanda Esquivel.
But not every Preuss graduate is so lucky. While 30 students were
admitted to UCSD this fall, not all are attending. Some enrolled
elsewhere, but others were simply not able to attend UCSD due to
financial concerns—something that wouldn’t have happened
had there been additional scholarship support available.
Scholarship gifts of any amount can help Preuss alumni face the
financial challenges of attending UCSD and assist with covering
costs for tuition, fees and books. To learn more about how you
can help, contact Donald Stump at (858) 822-6616 or
destump@ucsd.edu.
