# 13. Where did the TGIF bands routinely play on campus before the events were banned for underage drinking?

Bands played on the steps of the Main Gym and at "the hump".  Beer was served to students over the age of 21 outside the Student Center.

"And they weren't banned for underage drinking. Kegs were banned from the campus and that also put an end to it. Not to mention that more than half the students couldn't drink for being under 21 and the AS $$ covered the beer bill."

Ira Rubenstein, '87

# 14. Name one UCSD on-campus cafeteria that used to let students have all-you-can-eat for one price?

The all-you-care-to-eat facilities used to be:
Anchorview Cafeteria (now the Plaza Café) and Top of the Quad (now Sierra Summit).

Long-gone are the days of grilled cheese sandwiches and hot dogs. Today, Cafe Ventanas, ERC's dining facility, has its own sushi chef!

Special thanks to Betsy McCue, '95, of housing and dining services.

# 20.  How many levels (or floors) does Geisel Library have?

There are eight levels (or floors) in Geisel Library.

Did you... ever wonder what happened to the third floor? It's actually the outdoor forum/mezzanine level of Geisel which is only accessible from the outside of the building, hence the lack of a third floor in the elevator.

Did you know... "Geisel" is only the name of the library building? There are actually six libraries within the mammoth structure and not one is named "Geisel."

Special thanks to Marlo Young, UCSD Libraries
