Sand and Spirit in the the Anza-Borrego Desert

UC San Diego invites you to “Sand & Spirit in the Desert,” a program of historical, contemplative, and scientific exploration in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park led by UC San Diego faculty Matthew T. Herbst, Director of the Making of the Modern World Program, and geologist Geoffrey Cook, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, in partnership with Outback Adventures. This program offers a brief, but intense desert experience, camping under the stars, hiking through diverse environments, encountering desert vitality, and having time and space for contemplative reflection.
