UCSD Alumni

Volunteer

You are UC San Diego's largest and most permanent constituency. Your past experience, knowledge and expertise can benefit fellow alumni, current students and the University. Strengthen the Triton community by finding opportunities for personal, professional and intellectual growth, and show your commitment to keeping UCSD world class.

Student Recruitment and Retention

Support UC San Diego's commitment to academic excellence and diversity by meeting with prospective students at College Fairs in your community (August-November). Or call newly admitted students to encourage them to attend UCSD during the annual Regional Calling Campaign or speak to a group at Freshmen Info Sessions, Admissions Receptions or Triton Day (March-April). Alumni volunteers are also needed to welcome freshmen and transfer students at the annual Summer Send-Off (various locations) and UCSD's Convocation (September).

Alumni Leadership Scholarship

Since 1994, UCSD Alumni has proudly supported student scholarships. Help select recipients of the Alumni Leadership Scholarship for current students with financial need who have demonstrated outstanding academic and community leadership during their time at UC San Diego (May).

Back-to-Campus

Share your professional story and connect with current students during campus-wide celebrations and leadership events like Convocation (September), the inaugural academic event to formally welcome new students, and Passport to Leadership series (ongoing), a series of free workshops for students. Volunteer alongside current students during campus-wide community service events such as UCSD Cares, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, and other Volunteer50 sponsored programs.
