Please join fellow UC San Diego alumni to help restore a habitat or trail at the San Dieguito Lagoon.
Please meet at the end of San Andres Dr. (south of Via de La Valle) on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 8:00am. The project will focus on cutting and removing overgrown vegetation in preparation for winter. We suggest that participants wear long sleeves and pants, close-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen. The Park will provide gloves and tools for sawing and trimming willow trees and other native plants in addition to overall beautification and care of the Park's trailhead entrance. The UCSD Alumni Club will provide bottled water for the volunteers.
Also, this is a family-friendly event! Children of all ages may help pot willow cuttings; children 10 years or younger may also help pick up trash along the trail in the area; and older kids may be able to use hand trimmers to cut overgrown vegetation under supervision of a parent. We hope to see you there!
