Black Alumni Council
UC San Diego’s Black Alumni Council is an affinity group organized under UC San Diego Alumni. Our mission is to positively and proactively represent UC San Diego’s Black alumni and to foster a sense of community and connection amongst alumni and current students. We foster community through professional development and networking opportunities, social gatherings, and philanthropy through our flagship program, the Black Alumni Scholarship Fund (BASF).

Scholarship and Diversity
The Black Alumni Council and BASF Board are committed to increasing the campus diversity through higher enrollments of Black students at UC San Diego. We believe that more Black graduates on a sustained basis over time will help transform society and improve social justice in the wider San Diego community or wherever our graduates reside.
To achieve these goals, larger scholarships will need to be offered to a greater number of admitted, but not-yet-committed, applicants. Therefore, in August, BAC-BASF initiated a new campaign to increase the BASF endowment, in collaboration with the UC San Diego Black Academic Excellence Initiative and The San Diego Foundation.
Alumni and friends interested in supporting this diversity initiative are invited to make a gift to The San Diego Foundation for the UCSD Black Alumni Scholarship Fund. Find more information about the BAC-BASF Scholarship Program.
