About the Triton Alumni Card
What is the Triton Alumni Card?
The Triton Alumni Card is UC San Diego’s official digital alumni ID, available through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. It provides a convenient way to verify your UC San Diego alumni status and access participating alumni benefits, special offers and select campus experiences — all from your smartphone.
Who is eligible for a Triton Alumni Card?
The Triton Alumni Card is available to UC San Diego alumni who graduated from the university and Division of Extended Studies alumni-affiliates who have completed authenticated certificate programs.
Is there a cost to get a Triton Alumni Card?
No. The Triton Alumni Card is free for UC San Diego alumni and alumni-affiliates.
Is the Triton Alumni Card the same as my student ID?
No. The Triton Alumni Card is a digital alumni ID and does not replace a current student ID.
What information is included on my Triton Alumni Card?
Your Triton Alumni Card includes information needed to identify you as a UC San Diego graduate and provide access to participating alumni benefits.
Specifically, your first and last name, degrees and Alumni ID. It does not replace your official university records or contain sensitive personal information.
Is my information secure?
Yes. The Triton Alumni Card uses the security features built into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Your card is designed for your personal use and should only be installed on your own smartphone.
Using your card and benefits
How do I use my Triton Alumni Card?
Open Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on your smartphone and present your card whenever it is accepted for alumni identification, participating benefits or select campus experiences. See latest information on eligible benefits.
What benefits are included with the Triton Alumni Card?
The Triton Alumni Card provides access to participating alumni benefits and special offers. Available benefits may change over time as new opportunities are introduced.
Will more benefits be added in the future?
Yes. One advantage of a digital wallet card is that new benefits, offers and announcements can be added over time without requiring you to download a new card.
How will I know when new benefits are available?
Getting your card
How do I get my Triton Alumni Card?
Alumni with a valid email address in UC San Diego’s records will receive an activation email with a personalized link to add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. If you do not see the email, check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot find it, reach out to the alumni office to request your Triton Alumni Card today.
Requesting a card is not immediate validation and there will be a short waiting period to receive a link to your Triton Alumni Card.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The Triton Alumni Card works directly with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. No additional app is required.
I opened the activation email on my computer. Can I still install the card?
Yes. Open the same email on the smartphone where you would like to save your card, then follow the instructions to add it to your digital wallet.
Troubleshooting and support
What happens if I get a new phone or lose my card?
You can add your Triton Alumni Card to a new device or restore your card using your original activation email. If you need assistance, contact the UC San Diego Alumni Relations team at alumni@ucsd.edu.
My information is incorrect. How do I update it?
If your name or other information appears incorrect, please contact Alumni Relations at alumni@ucsd.edu so we can review and update your records if needed.
My card isn’t working or updating. What should I do?
Make sure your smartphone has an internet connection and that Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is up to date. If the issue continues, contact the UC San Diego Alumni Relations team at alumni@ucsd.edu.
