Take a Triton to Work

Take a Triton to Work pairs students with UC San Diego alumni for professional development guidance via a career exploration conversation or job shadowing opportunity. Alumni meet with current students to share their career journey, industry knowledge and expertise, and answer questions. These experiences are a great way for students to learn more about fields of interest and to hear first-hand how alumni are using their degrees.

Alumni 101 Panelists

Alumni 101 is a moderated professional development conversation led by UC San Diego alumni for current students. Topics focus on life after graduation and leverage the experiences of alumni along with the expertise of career advisors. Students gain valuable networking practice, learn the interpersonal skills needed to enter and succeed in their career and also understand how their studies, projects and experiences can be applied after graduation. Admissions Alumni Ambassadors

Assist the UC San Diego Office of Admissions in serving as one of their first Alumni Ambassadors. This volunteer program allows you to share your Triton pride at UC San Diego's admission and yield events, sharing your story with prospective and admitted students. Students are eager to hear from you! Connect with students, families, friends and alumni worldwide — especially in your hometown.

Partner with the International Students & Programs Office's (ISPO) to have the rewarding experience of sharing cultures as you assist international students and associates in improving their English language skills.

Homecoming Reunions

Reunions offer a unique opportunity to celebrate the past, while looking to the future and the promise of potential. Participate as a reunion committee lead or member. Help guide your class or affinity group in commemorating a milestone, while ensuring a memorable celebration of this important event.

Regional and Affinity Clubs

UC San Diego Alumni Regional Clubs (more than 25 around the world) help alumni connect to each other and the university with opportunities for service, social and professional networking. Regional alumni clubs host career networking nights, lectures, community service activities, sporting events, family picnics, mixers and much more. There are also alumni affinity groups based on profession, area of study, culture and other interests. Applications open year-round.

Triton 5K

Serve as a volunteer to support our biggest alumni event of the year, the Triton 5K. The annual 3.1 mile run is a 20+ year old campus tradition that supports student scholarships. Volunteer responsibilities include handing out registration packets, cheering on runners, offering water and more. Volunteer opportunities are a lot of fun and cover three days. Take your pick, choose your slot and help out!

UC San Diego Global Days of Service

Participate in our biggest volunteer event of the year! For six years, UC San Diego has been making a difference in local schools and the community through the Alumni Day of Service. Projects have included clean up, beautification and tutoring programs at Bayside Elementary (Imperial Beach), Ross Elementary (Clairemont), Oneonta Elementary (Imperial Beach), Avondale Elementary (Spring Valley), Zamorano Fine Arts Academy (Paradise Hills) and North Chollas Community Park. The annual event is fun for the entire family, and a meaningful way to collectively make a big impact. Make a Triton difference and participate in a local project or create one for alumni living outside of the San Diego region.
